Role Summary

As a Connectivity and Integration Web Developer, you are an integral member of the Web Services group, a team of talented software and systems engineers developing central aspects of Fio’s offering. You are primarily responsible for designing and developing connectivity solutions that enable the integration of Fio’s web services platform with third-party health information systems using existing connectivity standards while contributing to the creation of new standards and open source projects

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of connectivity solutions
  • Take part in the overall design and development of Fio’s Web Service API
  • Become an expert in existing third-party health information systems
  • Contribute to related open source projects and initiatives
  • Take part in defining Fio’s open source strategy
  • Document technical specifications and test plans based on business and technical requirements

Your Core Strengths

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experienced and inspired developer with strong software design skills
  • Expert in at least one high-level programming language, Java preferred
  • Experience writing code against 3rd party Web APIs
  • Solid understanding of RESTful Web Services
  • Solid understanding of data modelling and interchange best practices
  • Advanced knowledge of software development and deployment on Linux
  • Experience contributing to open source projects is preferred
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills

Some of Your Other Talents

  • Experience with medical connectivity standards (i.e. HL7/FHIR, IHE, OpenHIE)
  • Experience in a regulated environment (ISO 13485)
  • Experience with C# / .NET is preferred
  • Knowledge of web security and cryptography
  • Experience with test automation and formal verification processes
